How old is dr doom

As the Multiverse came to an end, Doom alongside the Molecule Man overpower and usurp the Beyonders, a nigh-omnipotent race of beings that resided outside the Omniverse. With this newfound godhood, Doom reassembles the fractures of the Multiverse into a new reality called Battleworld where Doom reigns supreme as God-King Doom.

The myriad of armors crafted by Victor over the decades has seen him achieve some of the highest forms of power, however, none could ever come close to his iconic look crafted by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. Making its debut appearance in Fantastic Four 5, the boisterous green cape with titanium battle armor has not only stood the test of time but has become one of the most iconic outfits worn by a comic book character. They managed to convince five of the rulers to pardon Doom and managed to escape the clutches of the sixth, bringing Doom back to their universe.

Upon their return, Doom declared that he and Richards were even again. After his return, Latveria became the site of an incursion , a collision between Earth and one of its alternate universe counterparts.

This incursion was different however, in that it was controlled by a mysterious group known as the Mapmakers , who had rigged the other Earth to explode and wished to mark Doom's Earth for potential expansion. Doom fought off the Mapmakers with the help of his adopted son Kristoff Vernard, whilst unbeknownst to him, the Illuminati blew up the other Earth. After the incursion ended, Doom was alerted to a rock that had fallen from the sky, which was in truth the Mapmakers' beacon.

Doom contacted Reed Richards and Stephen Strange in order to confront them about the Illuminati's presence in Latveria and the incursion, but to his fury, they refused to give him answers and Reed warned him not to contact him in regard to the incursions again. After imprisoning Loki due to the manipulations of an older Loki , Doom discovered that his people were fighting one another and rallying against him. After beginning to have bad thoughts himself, Doom realized that Latveria was under a telepathic attack.

He used a spell to protect himself, and discovered that the Red Skull had been responsible for this attack. Meanwhile in Castle Doom, Loki had been freed by Valeria, who used his truth sword Gram to release a "truth wave" which stopped the telepathic influence over Latveria.

Doom journeyed to Genosha with the rest of the villains that were recruited by Magneto. They destroyed one of the Skull's Stark Sentinels , which was keeping some of the heroes who had defied the Skull captive. Doom and the Scarlet Witch began to cast an inversion spell to alter the moral compass of the Skull in order to defeat him. The spell was successful, but it accidentally also affected everyone else on the island. After the island was covered by the spell, all of the villains disappeared without a trace, including Doom.

Doom returned to Latveria, changed into a selfless and kind man due to the spell, ready to make amends for his past sins. With the help of an Avengers team assembled by Valeria, Doom managed to get hold of a portion of the Scarlet Witch's powers, which he used to make right one of his past misdeeds, the murder of Cassie Lang , and bring her back to life. Wanda managed to finally confront Doom, who was saved by Magneto and Quicksilver. While Magneto and Pietro tried to convince Wanda not to cross the line and take Doom's life, Doom fled to another dimension, [88] where he made a pact with a demigod to bring Doctor Voodoo back to life.

After teleporting to New York, where the inverted heroes and villains were fighting, the inverted Red Skull helped Doom and Daniel cast the spell, which successfully brought almost everyone back to normal, including Doom. Victor took advantage of the confusion brought by the re-inversion and abducted the Red Skull to Latveria, for experimentation. Over the following months, Victor worked with a team of scientists to reverse-engineer one of the pieces of a Mapmaker he gathered from the incursion that took place in Latveria.

The Mad Thinker successfully managed to map their entire network. Doom planned to use the Molecule Man , whose energy frequency matched with the beacon's, to oppose whatever was the origin of the incursions and the decay of the multiverse. Doom and the Molecule Man travelled twenty-five years into the past to an alternate reality to witness the origin of said reality's Molecule Man. The journey affected Molecule Man's mind, restoring it from its chaotic state, and he told Doom of his origins.

The Molecule Man was a singularity across every single universe, a "bomb" created by the Beyonders to detonate across the entire multiverse at once. If a Molecule Man died, his universe died with him. If every Molecule Man died at the same time, every universe died simultaneously with them, and that was the Beyonders' goal.

The Molecule Man killed his counterpart, which set off the early death of his counterpart's universe, and caused the incursions. The Molecule Man convinced Doom that in order to thwart the plans of the Beyonders, he had to embark in a mission to kill Molecule Men. Even if Doom's actions resulted in a similar result to the Beyonders' plans, the destruction of realities, Doom's course of action attempted to save all that he could from the destruction, as setting off some of the Molecule Men earlier would diminish the charge of the explosion the Beyonders had planned.

Doom would also capture Molecule Men from other universes in order to create an even greater bomb with which he would destroy the Beyonders. Eight years after the beginning of his journey, when Doom had killed thousands of Molecule Men, he encountered one who would be the first of his Black Swans , a cult he would form around the religious concept of himself, under the identity of "Rabum Alal" the "Great Destroyer".

They destroyed other Earths during incursions as an offering to Rabum Alal and to buy more time for other universes for every Earth destroyed during an incursion two universes and one of the Earths were saved. In the present, when Doctor Strange and the Black Priests traveled to the Library of Worlds to find Rabum Alal, who had been believed to be one of the main causes of the decay of the multiverse, Doctor Doom presented himself.

In a last ditch attempt to save the multiverse, Doom took Strange and the Molecule Men to confront the Beyonders. When the multiverse finally perished in the final incursion between Earth and Earth , [96] Doom used the power of the Beyonders to salvage the remains of several realities and build a patchwork planet named Battleworld , which was ruled under his iron fist, with the help of Stephen Strange, who was Battleworld's sheriff.

As eight years went by, Doom and Strange managed to twist the memories of their inhabitants, to the point they would no longer remember what had existed before Battleworld. Even though he was an omnipotent ruler, Victor ultimately felt he was failing his duty as a god, he thought he wasn't capable of properly inspiring his people, and even though Battleworld was the perfect world he wanted, he considered himself its only flaw.

The relative monotony of Doom's reign was interrupted with the discovery of an empty vessel in the domain known as Utopolis , a life raft that had been built by the survivors of Earth, the villainous Maker and the Cabal. The vessel kept them in suspended animation for the eight years that passed, and had allowed them to survive the end of the multiverse and end up on Battleworld. Sheriff Strange recognized the design of the raft, which was that of a similar vessel he had found three years earlier and had kept hidden in his Isle of Agamotto.

When Strange investigated the vessel of his proprietary, he freed its occupants, the survivors of Earth, among which were Mr. Fantastic, Namor and Black Panther. After being informed of the nature of Battleworld and its ruler, the survivors of Earth helped Sheriff Strange confront the Maker and the Cabal, who had been finally pinned down by Battleworld's police force, the Thor Corps.

Fantastic in the scene, which is when he immediately teleported to Utopolis, and stopped the fray, demanding the newcomers to recognize his authority. To prevent Doom from prejudicially acting upon the interlopers, Stephen used his magic to teleport them away. Following the disappearance of the Cabal and the heroes from Earth, Doom confronted Strange for disobeying him, and ultimately killed him after Stephen accused him of being afraid of Richards.

Doom later commanded Valeria and the department of science of Battleworld, the Foundation , to find the interlopers, pinning Strange's murder on them. Some of Doom's allies started fighting against him, namely the Thor Corps, who had been convinced to fight against their god by the Thor survivor of Earth When he decided to step into the fight, Doom was confronted by Black Panther and Namor, with the former having acquired an Infinity Gauntlet from Sheriff Strange's sanctuary.

He teleported to Molecule Man's chamber, which had been found by Mister Fantastic. The Molecule Man partially stripped Doom from his power in order to allow a fair fight. During the furious confrontation, Doom accused Richards of believing he could've done better had he had Doom's power, and when Reed conceded he did, so did Doom. On the grounds that both agreed, Molecule Man gave Doom's power to Reed, destroying Battleworld in the process. With the power he had received from Molecule Man, and with help from his revived family, Mister Fantastic began to restore the Multiverse, including Earth The feeling of unfulfillment left in Victor during his tenure as a deity prompted him to look for other ways to find personal realization.

While rethinking his life, Doom was ultimately struck with the notion that if the selfish act of ultimate power wasn't his calling, maybe the opposite could hold true. Thus he set out to become a force of good in the world. Before departing Latveria, Victor appointed the top military mind in the country, General Karadick , as temporary head of state so he could help Latveria transition into a free state.

In order to make more apparent his transition to the side of the angels, the now-unarmored Victor decided to become an ally to Tony Stark , [] a man he had always secretly admired and deemed as an equal. During the second Civil War , Doom tried to help Stark regain his composure following the tragic loss of his best friend Jim Rhodes and the destruction of the Stark Tower.

At the same time, S. In the middle of this gauntlet, Victor found solace in a reluctant ally, Tony Stark's ex-girlfriend Amara Perera , whom Victor impregnated.

In the end, Mephisto was banished, and Doom started slowly gaining S. Doom's sudden turn against the supervillain community sparked grievances that resulted in a group of villains led by The Hood joining forces to take down Victor.

Tony confronted The Hood and stumbled into Victor. Doom took on The Hood and the demon possessing him one-on-one, and his face was severely burned by the demon in the process. Following the villains' defeat, Victor retreated to the ruins of Castle Doom.

During Victor's seclusion, the country fell under a tyrant regime. Doom was inspired by the leader of the resistance, Zora Vukovic , to pull himself together and take control back of Latveria. In an attempt to capture Galactus and turn him into a source of power for Latveria and the world, Doom lured the cosmic entity to his country. However, he arrested the team for trespassing into Latveria.

In the process, the Invisible Woman publicly shamed Victor by turning his armor invisible, exposing his scarred face to the whole world. As the conflict between Latveria and Symkaria became more heated, Doom had send one of his Doombots to join the discussion at the United Nation Assembly. As the situation kept on escalating, Doom begun seeing vision of himself as the great ruler of the world and with a happy family.

When terrorists disguised as Latverians blew up the Antlion Space Station — and thereby creating a black hole — they framed Latveria and Doctor Doom for its destruction and many lost lives, in order to have Dimitri Fortunov replace Doom.

Luckily, Kang freed Doom which allowed him to save himself from the falling jet. As Doom had become wanted, Morgan le Fay contacted him and offered him shelter. After telling her about his visions, she had Doom meet the Witness who could tell the future. However, Doom was then shot in the head by Taskmaster , killing him. After defeating the demon he was returned to life by Death in le Fay's apartment where he blasted the hero Blue Marvel unconscious. After visiting Fruzsina Markovich , the woman he had married in his visions, [] he and Kang proceeded to return to Latveria.

While on the road Doom was able to get his hands on the Ultimate Nullifier , prompting Kang to betray Doom, but Doom was able to retaliate, and moved on leaving Kang behind. All were sincere, except for Vasily Makeyev who was revealed to be the traitor. After giving the Nullifier to Zora, he went at night to Dimitri Fortunov and forced him to stab his face before killing him.

Following his vision of his sons having scarred their own faces to emulate their father, Doom broke down leaving Victorious to comfort him and returned the Nullifier to him. Doctor Doom proceeded to take back his post as ruler of Latveria.

Despite still seeing him as a mass murderer, the world's leaders asked him for help dealing with the black hole. Doom agreed on the condition that he would be allowed to take over Symkaria without interference. The Latverian forces invaded the neighbouring state in little time and Doom killed Karkov in a sword fight. After successfully conquering Symkaria, Doom confronted Ionela Novotny , a Symkarian spy posing as a member of Doom's Children and mother of Victorious.

He ordered his herald to kill her mother to which she complied. However, after all of this Doom was still haunted by his past as a villain and vowed to change himself for the better, and become the kind hearted ruler of Earth. He constructed a laser able to reduce the activity of the black hole and cease the black hole itself.

Despite every calculation showing a positive outcome, Victor became obsessed by Reed's good luck wish. He thought he mocked his project and that could be lead to a disaster, so he rearranged the settings of the laser. These modifications proved to be wrong and instead accelerated the black hole's activity, which seemingly destroyed the Earth. Through this accident, Doom traveled beyond the black hole and discovered that his visions weren't about his future, but they were of another universe, where Victor abandoned his obsessions and became a peaceful man.

The black hole was actually a wormhole and because the Antlion acted as a membrane that lead to a quantum entanglement between the two realities, their minds were interwoven and they could see one another's world. The Victor of this world showed the impressive progresses made in this universe, which comprised a galactic alliance with aliens superpowers such as the Kree, Badoon, Skrull, and Shi'ar; and the collection of every artifact such as the Mandarin's ten rings, the Ultimate Nullifier, the Winter Casket, and the Watoomb's Scepter.

Doom was almost convinced of the superiority of his alternate self. However, when he remarked his continuing obsession about Reed Richards as ludicrous and deemed his armor ridiculous, Doom killed his counterpart and destroyed the universe with the Ultimate Nullifier. This action apparently closed the wormhole and brought Doom back to his native universe. It also fulfilled Death's prophecy about Doom as her greater servant.

In preparation for a looming conflict called the Reckoning War , Doom set out to steal power from the Faltine lord Dormammu. Doom left to space and an ally of his named Sister Talionis manipulated a Skrullian cult to enact a ritual that made Ego the Living Planet become possessed by Dormammu, launching the dark lord's own campaign of conquest. Following Dormammu's defeat, Doom left the Guardians. Magic : Doctor Doom was introduced to the mystic arts by his mother who was of Romani and Latverian blood.

Strange stepped down as the Sorcerer Supreme of Earth , Doom was amongst the candidates considered suitable to replace him. When Earth's heroes learned they must sacrifice themselves to defeat Onslaught, Iron Man decided Doom should help with that sacrifice.

Iron Man grabbed Doom and pulled him into Onslaught's essence, killing him. Franklin Richards created a pocket universe for the heroes to live in. Doom remained much as he had before. Unlike most of the heroes, Doom seemed to remember the past events of Onslaught. When Galactus came to Earth to consume it, Doom was met by a future version of himself and given information and technology to help him.

Doom first tried to steal the cosmic powers of Galactus' heralds. Soon realizing he was no match for Galactus and realizing the planet was doomed, he traveled back in time to try to prevent this. After two more attempts to stop Galactus and turn it towards his favor, Doom finally worked with the heroes and the Silver Surfer to defeat Galactus.

After the heroes returned to their proper Earth, Doom however remained behind. Employing a combination of magic and technology, he took over the "Heroes Reborn" world and moved it from the pocket universe to his original universe. Putting it in the same orbit as Earth, only on the opposite side, creating a Counter Earth.

Eventually, he was overthrown and returned to his rightful planet. During his youth, he fell in love with a woman named Valeria , but she declined his advances. He made a pact with the Hazareth Three, which involved sacrificing her in order to gain more power. This act is generally considered to be the precursor to a new Dr. Doom who regretted the crime against Valeria.

It is stated to be the reason for Doom naming Reed's daughter Valeria , after the woman he truly loved but killed. He considers himself to be the self-appointed guardian of young Valeria as he feels this is the way he can atone for the death of his love.

However, Marvel has not mentioned exactly what triggered this emotional sentiment in Doom to bring back the memory of Valeria. He became trapped in Hell when he was tricked by the Fantastic Four and Dr. When Mjolnir was floating and passing through all realities, it made a hole in hell for Doom to escape. When Mjolnir landed on Earth, Doom tried to claim it, but he was unworthy. He later returned to Latveria and rediscovered his magical heritage to defeat his enemies.

He later welcomed Atlanteans to Latveria when their kingdom was destroyed and later aligned himself with Loki to plot against Thor and the release of Asgard 's enemies. Doom then faced the Mighty Avengers after he released Symbiotes from one of his satellites.

When Iron Man , Sentry , and Doom were fighting, they were suddenly brought back to the past. The three had to work together to get back to the present by using Mr. Fantastic's time machine from that timeline. But when they got back, Doom sent Iron Man to a time when his castle was only moments away from exploding. With Iron Man out of the way, he easily defeated the Avengers. Iron Man however, managed to escape in the nick of time.

That, combined with Spider-Woman 's breakout from Doom's prison, proved to be the start of his downfall and Doom was finally apprehended. During the Marvel Civil War, Dr. Doom had been abandoned in hell Mobius Dimension by the Fantastic Four. There, he conducted a valiant battle against innumerable demons. He escaped when Thor 's hammer passed through that plane of existence, on its journey to Earth. When back on Earth, he found that his Prime Minister had taken over his country, after two years of Doom being absent.

The Minister was about to make serious changes in the government, when Doom intervened. He then set about the task of retrieving Mjolnir. He returned to Latveria, frustrated. In Latveria he was approached by Black Panther and his wife, Storm to form a united front against the registration act of the US. Although Doom agreed with Black Panther, he did not involve himself in combat on US soil during the war. In the fallout of Secret Invasion, we first see Dr.

Doom attending the meeting of the Dark Illuminati. Victor is unimpressed with Norman Osborn's brave new world but plays ball anyways.

Following the departure of the other Illuminati, Namor and Doom talk about their real plans. Doom says that if things do not go the way he thinks, there will be a battle the likes the universe has never seen. Upon his return to Latveria, Doom is attacked by Morgana Ley Fay after she had attempted to murder him in the past. The powerful witch blasts Doom and knocks him down for the count.

Doom has also been working with groups of B-Ranked super-villains since the Secret Invasion. Doom gives them instructions and helps them enhance their powers while he uses them to further his agenda. After this, we see Dr.

Doom teamed up with the Circus of Crime searching for the secret of eternal life. They come into a clash with Baron Zemo and the Masters of Evil. It is revealed that the battle between the two groups was a test set-up by Doom to see who he would recruit. Even though the Circus won with a very great deal of help from Doom.

Doom recruits the Masters of Evil but also extends his hand to Python Princess. Doom had one last meeting with Norman and his Cabal, but still refused to side with Norman. To show off his power, Norman unleashed his 'secret weapon' on Doom and defeated him. But Doom was obviously prepared for this sort of attack, sending a Doombot in his place. Doom had made it clear that no one controls Doctor Doom. After his initial capture and release for war crimes, Doom revealed that he had been taught everything by a master who would soon be returning.

His master, he said, was far more powerful and evil than even himself. But when his master returned, known as the Marquis of Death , he was displeased with what Doom had been doing in the two decades since they parted. He expected Doom to be the vicious ruler of the Earth, not the ruler of a small country constantly defeated by heroes such as the Fantastic Four.

After mentally toying with him, he beat Doom and banished him to prehistoric times to die. With his new apprentice, the Marquis of Death began to torment the Fantastic Four as punishment.

The Fantastic Four were able to defeat Doom's master, only to find that the new apprentice was Doom himself. After being banished to the past, he spent millions of years growing in power and sorcery, planning his deceptive move against his former master. Now weakened by his defeat at the hands of the Fantastic Four, Doom killed his master, who was finally pleased with his former student.

Long ago, Doom was approached by the Leader and his super villain group the Intelligencia. They planned to steal the lost information of the Library of Alexandria and needs a safe place to store it, which Doom could provide in Latveria.

Doom did not participate on any of the missions to obtain the information. When the last piece of info was retrieved, Doom betrayed them. He took the information for himself and had his guards attack the other members. Recently, the group reformed and with their technology and expertise created the Red Hulk and the Red She-Hulk.

They planned to 'lobotomize' the competition and capture eight of Earth's greatest minds, including Doom. Doom was able to absorb the robot's energy but at the same time took the bait and absorbed a 'neural anesthetizer' that diminished his mental abilities. Lacking the needed intelligence to operate his devices or remember his magical incantations, Doom was captured by the Cosmic Hulk and transported to the location of the Intelligencia.

In his captivity, Doom's now diminished mind can only think of revenge against Bruce Banner , whom he mistakenly blames for his abduction. Doom and the other geniuses were all attached to a device on the Intelligencia's Hellcarrier. Inside the device was a fantasy world to control them, but Doom was not convinced by the illusion.

But the device slowly drained their intelligence. Doom knew the world was fake but did not have the intelligence left to make an escape plan. He convinced Bruce that he was the only one with the mental capacity to release them, since he had not been in the machine as long.

Bruce finally did what was needed and allowed their escape. In classic Doom fashion, he attempted to use the machine to transfer all the other geniuses knowledge into his own mind. Doom had not realized that his mental abilities were still diminished from the earlier attack and hooked himself to the machine incorrectly, further frying his own brain.

He once again swore revenge on Bruce Banner, this time the real one, before the Red She-Hulk punched Doom through the wall and sent him plummeting to Earth.

When Doom learned of a xenophobic group of Wakandans known as the Desturi, he began his plans for gaining access to the Vibranium supplies of Wakanda. Vibranium has the ability to be magically charged and has infinite power potential, something Doom has figured how to do and could be virtually unstoppable with the vast amounts of Vibranium located in Wakanda.

Doom funded the Desturi to begin their revolt and takeover. Doom developed nanite cameras which were dispersed into all Wakandans which made them unknowing spies for Doom. With all the security information of Wakanda available to him, he was able to gain access to the vault that contains the country's Vibranium.

Doom has no interest in ruling Wakanda. If all goes according to his plans, he will take the Vibranium and turn the country into a wasteland. Having captured Storm, Doom demands she open the last locks. But she cannot open it. But Doom has not planned this for so long to be stopped now. He strips himself, leaving him totally vulnerable and enters the doorway. There he is met by the Panther God of Wakanda, Bast , who is able to probe Doom's mind and soul for his impurities and bad intentions.

At first glance, Bast calls Doom a monster, having caused countless deaths and caused much harm to friends and enemies alike. But Doom convinces Bast to look further, opening himself totally to show that the ends justify the means. In countless futures viewed by Doom, humanity has destroyed itself - except one. The alternate future of Doomworld where Doom reigns supreme is the only chance to save the human race. Though Bast does not approve of Doom's methods, Doom truly believes he can be the savior of mankind, and has passed the test.

Vibranium is now in the hands of Doom. Working with the Broker , Doom begins his ritual to magically enhance the Vibranium and begin his conquest of the world.

The ritual was successful and soon Doom had the power to control every bit of Vibranium on the planet and make it come to life, simultaneously attacking every country and team on Earth. Doom described the power as being even greater than when he took the Silver Surfer's Power Cosmic or when he possessed a Cosmic Cube. The Black Panther and Shuri gathered their allies to the borders of Latveria in an attempt to draw Doom out since they dared not wage open war with Latveria.

With all his power and might, Doom accepted the challenge and planned to remove his enemies once and for all. With the incredible power he possessed and an army of Doombots, Doom easily had his enemies on the edge of defeat. But the Black Panther did the unexpected. He used Doom's great power as his own power source to make all the processed Wakandan Vibranium on Earth useless, thus sacrificing the source of Wakanda's economy.

Doom had been defeated and also had lost hundreds of billions of dollars in the process. The transfer overload to Doom damaged his brain and left him severely diminished in mental capacity. He called for Kristoff from exile to take his place until he could find a way to return his intelligence. When Valeria arrived to ask for Doom's help, she noticed that he was struggling to follow her words and she learned that he was recently brain damaged. In exchange for his help to save her father, she offered to find a way to restore his intelligence.

With the help of Mr. Fantastic and the convincing of Nathaniel Richards , they used Kristoff as a back up to restore Doom's intelligence. As part of his bargain, he joined the Future Foundation to assist Valeria in saving the world.

The threat finally emerged in the last surviving members of the Council , an inter-dimensional gathering of all the Reed Richards' of the multiverse. Upon investigation, one Reed managed to fool Doom into allowing him to place a control collar on him, as he had done with many other alternate versions of Doom throughout the multiverse. Under the alternate Reed's control, they traveled to Latveria and were met by Nathaniel Richards, who helped assist them in returning to their own universe.

Doom was finally released from the collar when they were all forced to stop the invasion of the Mad Celestials , enemies of the Council bent on destroying all versions of Reed Richards. Doom stayed behind to fight off the Celestials on his own while the others escaped and tried to close the portal behind them. While it was known that Doom must die to save the Earth, Valeria told him to find a way to survive, something Doom undoubtedly meant to do in the first place.

While all believed Doom sacrificed himself for the greater good, Doom did indeed survive. Not only did he find the Infinity Gauntlet of one of the expired Reed's, he also discovered their collection of lobotomized Dooms from alternate dimensions. Doom began his preparations for the future.

During the events of AXIS , Doom is temporarily transformed into a heroic figure after being exposed to the Inversion wave that was unleashed during the battle with Red Onslaught. To this end, he and Valeria partner with Phil Coulson to form a new team of Avengers after the originals are captured by the Inverted Sam Wilson. The Avengers are able to steal a portion of the Inverted Scarlet Witch 's power, which Doom uses to resurrect Cassie Lang , a young heroine he had killed during the Children's Crusade.

He is also responsible for resurrecting Brother Voodoo , who plays a key role in defeating Scarlet Witch and bringing an end to the crisis. Doom ultimately helps undo the Inversion despite realizing that it will cause him to return to his old ways, and is last seen back in Latveria with the Red Skull as his prisoner.

After discovering evidence of a Universal Incursion and the actions of the Illuminati on Latverian soil, Doom begins an investigation into the situation. When he confronts Reed Richards about the problem, Richards is evasive and refuses to share what he knows.

On his own, Doom continues to search for an explanation and solution. When the Cabal grows out of control, Namor comes to Doom for help, but is rebuffed. Eventually, Doom partners with the Molecule Man to find way to stop the collapse of the Multiverse, and discovers that the Beyonders are behind everything. Realizing that the Beyonders have been using versions of Molecule Man across the Multiverse to achieve their plan, Doom begins killing these alternate Molecule Men.

His actions eventually lead to the formation of a religion around him, with the Black Swans worshipping Doom as an angry god known as Rabum Alal. After the destruction of the Multiverse , Doom manages to kill the Beyonders and harness their power. With his newfound godhood, Doom merges the remaining bits of the surviving worlds into a new version of Battleworld, with himself as ruler.

As God Emperor Doom , he rules the planet with an iron fist and brainwashes everyone into forgetting their prior worlds. He also marries Susan Storm, who does not remember her prior life. He is eventually opposed by the heroes after they remember the truth. In the aftermath of the Multiverse's restoration, and with both Reed and Sue Richards presumed dead, the newly-healed Victor sets out to try and change his ways.

He befriends Tony Stark and assists on a few occasions, even giving him one of the Wands of Watoomb and helping him defeat Madame Masque. During this time, he clashes with foes such as the Maker , and even becomes a member of the Avengers after forming a friendship with Nadia Pym. He also helps the Thing and the Human Torch after the two heroes believe they may have found proof of Reed and Sue's survival. He clashes with the heroes due to their negative history and his own arrogance, but ultimately plays a major role in helping defeating an alternate universe version of Doom who had managed to absorb the power of Galactus.

Doom's time as a hero eventually comes to an end after the Hood horribly burns his face. Disfigured once more, Doom retreats back to his castle, where he remains until a young woman named Zora breaks in and tells him that Latveria has fallen into chaos without his rule.

She hands Doom his iconic mask, which he dons once again to liberate his country from the dictators who have siezed it. Sorcery: Doctor Doom's potential in the mystic arts comes from the Roma i.

Gypsies heritage of his mother. He learned these abilities from his time with a secret order of monks in Tibet. He further developed his abilities by traveling through time and learning lost Dark Arts.

Doctor Strange originally considered him magically proficient but only a mid-level mage, but now considers Doom one of the most powerful practitioners of sorcery and a potential Sorcerer Supreme. His knowledge and power is great enough to hold his own against the likes of Morgan le Fay and Doctor Voodoo , the current Sorcerer Supreme. His knowledge of spell-craft likely surpasses Doctor Strange's, former Sorcerer Supreme. However, he considers his scientific abilities to be more important and has devices that do many of the same things.

Mind Transference: By training with an alien race, Doom has gained the ability to switch his mind with that of another nearby human being with whom he's made eye contact, a process which he learned from the alien Ovoids.

However, Doom prefers his own body and only uses this transference power as a last resort.
