Can invader zim come back

There have been comics released in the intervening years, but the last television episode aired 13 years ago. Given that creator Jhonen Vasquez came back to a property of his creation after over a decade, and that the original production back in the day was reportedly sometimes rather difficult, his experience making the special was sure to be an interesting one.

While speaking with ComicBook. And then the rest was a roller coaster because it just dives, but it's not fun. And then it just hits the concrete. This led to the Tallest priming every weapon they had and targeting Earth: they're ready to destroy the world if it means Zim dies too. Fortunately, Membrane figures out how to teleport Earth away, just in time to escape both the Florpus and the wrath of the Almighty Tallest.

Unfortunately for the Irkens, this left them heading straight into the reality-bending Florpus instead. The last we see of them, they're screaming in terror and being morphed by the Florpus as Zim tries to call them.

The energies of the Florpus were enough to rip a planet apart, so it's possible that the Irken armada wouldn't be able to survive extended exposure to the Florpus. If they do escape, they could decide to come after Zim and the Earth as revenge.

But if they don't, it could leave a power vacuum that other Irkens like Zim's rival Tak could try to take advantage of. Taken from Tak, the other Irken invader who tried to conquer Earth in the original series, Tak's spaceship has quietly played major roles in previous Invader Zim episodes. But the ship's return in Enter the Florpus proves crucial to the Membrane family's victory over Zim. The ship gives Dib and Gaz the chance to save their father from space prison, as well as the ability to return to Earth to try and stop Zim.

Gaz ends up actually seeming to bond with the ship. Her video game skills have always made her uniquely talented to use Irken technology, so Gaz is able to use fly the ship to great effect over the course of the film. But upon returning to Earth, the ship is severely damaged while flying through an asteroid field, leaving it broken once more.

However, Dib was able to repair the ship in the past, so there's no reason he wouldn't be able to do so again. On top of that, the friendship that builds up between Gaz and the ship's AI could give her plenty of incentive to repair the ship herself. This would give Gaz more reason to be involved in any future plots that threaten the world. From what I understand, Nick producer Mary Harrington originally approached you about pitching a show to the network, after she discovered Squee!

Did you have a sense of what it was about your comics that they wanted to bring to TV? The show is preoccupied with mindlessness in general, an obliviousness to horror that allows for horror to be normal.
