Child Care Subsidy. Top 1. Top 2. In order to be eligible for the subsidy, you must: be the parent or guardian of a child under the age of 13; use a licensed child care facility ; be a resident of Saskatchewan; and have a valid reason for child care such as employment, education, or special health needs. Top 3. This program may serve families currently receiving cash aid who demonstrate a qualifying need.

Families who are not currently receiving cash aid, have received cash aid more than two years ago, or have never received cash aid may be eligible for other CDE funded programs based on availability of funding. Families must complete an Eligibility List Intake Form see below to be placed on the eligibility list. The rules are different depending on the funding source, and can be complicated. The Child Care Law Center helps interpret subsidy program rules and practices so that working, low-income families can keep the subsidized child care to which they are entitled.
Your county social worker must offer and make available child care to you if you want to participate in welfare-to-work, work, or other program activities. Timelines for appeal are short! We help parents — and advocates representing parents — who are at risk of losing their subsidized child care. We offer information and technical assistance so that low-income and limited English proficiency parents do not unjustly lose child care.
We help write new state guidelines and policies so that low-income parents can keep subsidized child care, which is their lifeline to working to support their families.
