Are there gluten free oreos

The results? I have celiacs and am hypersensitive to gluten. Meee tooo!!!! I am having bad allergic reaction to them- has to be in the oat flour- not sure but sad to see them leave my pantry… edited.

There is gluten in there. I have been eating at home and nothing new but these. Am in the throes if a reaction. Buyer beware. I have celiac and have eaten lots of gluten free Oreos. I have not had any reaction. Love the double stuff. Wish they would make the golden Oreos gluten free. I only ate one per day and not every day.

Over the course of two weeks I ate about six cookies. I had no noticible reaction. It surprised me that they could taste just like the originals, which my gluten-eating family also confirmed. There is just something about the flavor of an Oreo that has yet to be matched by a 'knockoff' gluten-free sandwich cookie. Just take a whiff of the package and you can even smell that 'Oreo' flavor.

I imagine it is something about the type of cocoa they use or their blend of artificial flavors. The other great thing about these Oreos is the texture! They are not gritty or sandy and they are completely dunkable!

They really hit the mark on that aspect! I have yet to find confirmation on the type of oats, but if I had to guess, they are mechanically sorted oats not purity protocol.

That being said, GFCO stands behind their certification of these cookies and is assuring consumers these Oreos meet their strict certification standards and are safe to eat, even for those with celiac disease.

Since these cookies meet that certification, they are verified to contain less than 10ppm gluten. Hi all. Products that are certified by GFCO must meet a very high standard, particularly when the product contains oats. Your health and safety are our top priority at GIG. Rest assured, we are confident that the oat ingredients in gluten-free Oreos are safe. Still, people are pretty upset that these Oreos contain oats and wonder why they would use oat flour, knowing some people can not tolerate it.

If I had to venture a guess, they used oat flour because it produced a cookie that closest resembled the originals. It just wouldn't make sense for Oreo to put out a sub-par version. I'm just one person with one opinion, so I got my roommates to unwittingly participate in a study. I put two packages of gluten-free Oreos on my kitchen table—one regular and one Double Stuf—along with a package of classic Oreos, then scampered off to my room.

I'm no scientist, but I took enough research courses to know that my presence would let bias enter the equation. From behind a closed door, I texted my roommate group chat, letting them know that they could dig into the cookies on the counter, then sat back and waited for science to happen.

A few hours later, I slinked out to the kitchen to find that they did not hold back. The Oreos were, indeed, dug into. When I asked my roommates how the gluten-free cookies compared to the original, the consensus was unanimous: As one roommate put it, "The gluten-free cookies are more brittle and sandy Other than that they're the same I think.

There you have it. Outside sources have confirmed that these cookies are, in fact, kindred spirits. The differences between gluten-free Oreos and the original are so subtle that it's hard to say which is tastier. That's kind of the best-case scenario though because it means people with gluten sensitivity are experiencing the same thing that everyone else is, a luxury that they won't soon take for granted. If you're able to eat gluten, good for you! Either Oreo is a great fit for your palate.

If you're unable to eat gluten, rest easy knowing that the wait for gluten-free Oreos was worth it. Nabisco truly hit this recipe out of the park. Skip to main content News.
